Savings for your business and your staff

Sunday March 1, 2020

When Cheltenham BID began in 2016, businesses said they wanted to see reduced business costs.  Our business plan said the BID would “Implement group purchasing initiatives to save day and night-time economy businesses money on overheads such as energy, insurance, telecoms and waste disposal.”

We have two initiatives running at present to save your business money on your utilities and merchant service fees.

The Logical Utilities Company has created the Cheltenham BID Consortium which uses the power of bulk purchasing to ensure that Cheltenham BID businesses benefit from the lowest possible rates on their gas and electricity contracts.

By using their vast experience in the energy sector, this local company, employing local people, are able to negotiate with all the major suppliers.

To find out how much you could save your business please contact us at info@cheltenhambid.co.uk and we will arrange for someone to get in touch with you.

The BID has negotiated an exclusive deal with Paymentsense to help keep your merchant service costs to a minimum.

BID businesses also asked us to reduce the cost of parking.  In our business plan we said we would “Negotiate reduced bus fares and parking charges for staff of BID levy paying businesses”.

In 2016, in partnership with Stagecoach West, the BID Stagecoach travel discount was launched.  Staff of levy paying BID businesses are able to claim an exclusive discount on weekly and monthly bas passes, enabling them to travel to work for as little as £11 per week.

So far more than 60 businesses are offering their staff reduced travel costs.  This is great for recruitment and retention in a competitive market.

Late in 2019, the BID negotiated a deal with CitiPark and employees at BID businesses are now able to get a monthly parking pass for only £60 or park for a day for £5 in the John Lewis & Partners Albion Street car park.

Partnerships have been formed to encourage people to support their fellow BID businesses.  Laura Leigh Hairdressing and Blushes both have incredible offers which are exclusively for staff at BID Businesses.  As part of your employee benefits package you can tell your staff that they can benefit from discounts on their glasses at both Specsavers and David Clulow Opticians.
