BID Business of the Month – The Old Courthouse

Saturday June 30, 2018

The Old Courthouse opened in February 2018 after Brunning and Price took over the historic 19th Century building.  They put a lot of work into researching its history and uncovered and restored some of the original features, bringing it back to life.

For the past two years, the BID has been fortunate enough to be able to hold the Cotswold Life BID Business Awards in what was the actual courtroom.

Dale Allison joined the team at The Old Courthouse as General Manager in July 2018 and was delighted that the pub had been chosen as BID Business of the Month.  He is always keen to get involved with the BID’s activities and during this year’s Cheltenham Cocktail Week they created three aptly named cocktails for the occasion.

Pubs have traditionally been at the centre of the community and The Old Courthouse is no exception.  They work with their neighbours to bring everyone together, featuring Kojin, a specialty gin developed by Koj; and offer the staff and cast from the Everyman Theatre a 10% discount. Their community spirit extends beyond their customers and neighbours; there are frequent charity quiz nights to support local charities from animal shelters to hospices.

Whatever is going on in Cheltenham, The Old Courthouse joins in.  They had a great line-up of live acts during the Jazz Festival and some science buskers during the Science Festival, all free to attend.

Dale has been in the hospitality industry for many years and worked in a variety of different locations.

As BID Business of the month, The Old Courthouse will have a representative speaker at the next Cheltenham Business Forum event.  We will highlight them across our social media channels, and they will feature on the home page of our website.
