Specsavers Cheltenham is a national champion

Specsavers at Westminister

Specsavers Cheltenham has been recognised in Parliament for their contribution to the community.

Emily Ashman, Community Engagement Manager at the store, has long been involved with the work of Going the Extra Mile (GEM), which helps to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Alex Chalk MP nominated the business as Cheltenham Constituency Responsible Business Champion 2019 after seeing first-hand how the collaboration between GEM and Specsavers has helped people overcome barriers and find employment.

Emily attended a reception at Westminster with Alex Chalk where she was presented with the award for Specsavers.

The 2019 Constituency Responsible Business Champion is a national award presented to businesses that have been active members of the community. The criteria to be nominated includes offering apprenticeships, investing in healthy workplaces and reducing their environmental impact. The scheme was developed to encourage MPs to take an interest in whether companies in their constituencies operate responsibly and to celebrate their achievements.
