The uncertainty around Brexit has put a lot of pressure on businesses and as we approach October 31, some businesses will have more questions than answers.
The BID Board asked Cheltenham Borough Council how they were going to support business with their Brexit preparations, and we are pleased to be able to share their plans with you.
The Council recognises it has an important role to play in supporting businesses in their Brexit preparations. They have created a dedicated webpage, which provides a range of information for businesses about the things they should consider in preparing for Brexit. This webpage is being updated as and when new information becomes available and can be found at https://www.cheltenham.gov.uk/brexit.
Further communications will be provided by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government, and the Council will be using its various communication channels to share this information
Each Local Authority is required to have a lead officer for Brexit and your Cheltenham officer is Darren Knight, Executive Director of People & Change. If you have any questions or suggestions of things the Council could do to support businesses around preparing for Brexit then please do not hesitate to contact Darren at firstname.lastname@example.org
In Gloucestershire, it has been agreed that the public sector will have coordinated approach for Brexit preparations through the Local Resilience Forum (LRF). More information about the LRF can be found from http://glosprepared.co.uk/about-us/.
